Ty is the founder and Executive Managing Partner of Gateway Medical Innovation Center in Shanghai.
Ty is also the founder and CEO of InnoMed, a Santa Clara, CA and Shanghai based medical device company. Ty has a broad academic and industrial experience. Started his industry career at Guidant in 1996 with a strong focus on cardiovascular interventional devices. He has managed numerous technology innovation and product development programs with increasing responsibilities. Prior to his entrepreneur endeavor, Ty was the President and General Manager at Vascore Medical in Suzhou, China, Director of Endovascular New Product Development and Director of Worldwide Franchise R&D for New Product Development and Commercialization at Cordis (a Johnson and Johnson company) in Miami Lakes, Florida, and the Program Manager of Coronary Drug-Eluting Stent at Guidant in Santa Clara, California.
Ty received his medical education from China Medical University. Served as a legislative staff with the China National Congress Committee on Health before pursuing his graduate education in health management at Yale University. Completed his post-doctoral training on medical oncology at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT and worked at Cancer Institute of New Jersey before joining the medical device industry. Ty has relocated to Shanghai in 2005 to focus on his ventures in China.
Fred Lu was a Partner of BioVeda China. has over eighteen years experience as a serial entrepreneur and angel venture capital investor in China and the U.S. Prior to joining BioVeda China, Mr. Lu was President and Founder of Cheerlink Investment Company, which facilitated the seed financing and development of several companies in Silicon Valley, primarily in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and high technology industries. He is President of Avant Medical U.S.A., a medical device company which successfully launched the Chinese MRI into the US market. Mr. Lu has founded and successfully developed several companies including High Light International, an x-ray tubes company, and White Collar Corporation, presently the number one company in women’s high fashion design source in China. Mr. Lu has also served in management positions with 3I Corporation (fermentation company), which included Project Manager responsible for the turn key soy isolate protein plant operation in Jamusi Helongjiang Province As an entrepreneur and venture investor, he has developed deep and broad networks in China. Mr. Lu is also co-founder of Chongqing Normal University College He Chuan Campus. Mr. Lu received his Masters Degree in Plastic Engineering from the University of Lowell ( U.S. ) and Mathematical degree from Beijing University .
Bradley Hubbard, DVM
Brad Hubbard is a Co-Founder of Gateway Medical Innovation Center (Pudong, Shanghai, PRC). Previously Dr. Hubbard was the General Manager of LyChron, LLC, a Contract Research Organization with laboratories in Silicon Valley and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Prior to joining LyChron, Brad led the preclinical teams for Guidant’s Vascular Intervention division for 7 years. Dr. Hubbard holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Missouri. Dr. Hubbard is Board Qualified in Veterinary Internal Medicine and is currently licensed to practice Veterinary Medicine in California and Texas. He has extensive experience evaluating and developing medical devices for treatment of cardiovascular, neurologic, orthopedic, respiratory, and ocular diseases.
